Insurance accuracy disclaimer
Why insurance information on DentistGrid is informational only, and how to confirm coverage.
Insurance information on DentistGrid is provided as a convenience and may be incomplete or out of date. Networks change frequently, and the same practice may be in-network for one plan and out-of-network for another — even within the same insurer.
Where our insurance data comes from
- Claimed listings: insurance lists are self-reported by the practice and updated when the practice tells us they have changed.
- Unclaimed listings: we do not display insurance acceptance at all. NPPES does not publish this information.
- Patient filters: when you filter the search by an insurance carrier, we save your preference. Until enough providers have verified their network status, the filter does not narrow results — see search.
What we do not promise
- That a listed insurance is currently in-network for your specific plan, group, or product line.
- Reimbursement rates, deductibles, copays, or maximum benefits.
- That a listed insurance is accepted by every dentist at a multi-provider practice.
- Coverage for any specific procedure code.
How to confirm coverage before booking
- Call the practice and ask if they are in-network for your specific plan name and group number.
- Call the member services number on your insurance card and verify the practice and provider by name and NPI.
- For costly procedures, request a written pre-treatment estimate from both the practice and the insurer.
